2008-Year in Review

1. What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before?
Got pregnant!

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn't make any last year. I'm working on some for this year...

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Some of my internet Bumpies. =] I wouldn't say we are close in distance...but we are close at heart.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.

5. What countries did you visit?
None...and that to me is sad.

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
A baby, guess I'm getting my wish! =]

7. What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
June 9 - Our one year wedding anniversary.
June 12 - I pee'd on a stick & got two lines! =]
July 20 - Saw & heard our bean for the first time.
Dec 31 11:59pm-January 1 Midnight - Madie will officially be full term. (That one is kind of cheating...but come on!)

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Carrying this baby full term, I'm proud of my body.

9. What was your biggest failure?
I'm not sure. My marriage suffered in ways and so did my friendships.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
16 weeks of morning sickness & a lovely development of anemia.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
That first pregnancy test. =]

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Bo, We thought it wouldn't work out but he definetly proved us wrong.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
I can't answer this because I'm done stepping on toes.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Bills, bills, & baby.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Everything to do with the baby: getting pregnant, hearing the heartbeat, finding out she had a vagina. =] I have to add that Obama's win was a much celebrated event.

16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
Ooo, tough call. There are a few songs that matched a lot of moments for me...but I don't feel like typing them.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? happier.
b) thinner or fatter? slightly fatter - I'm pregnant
c) richer or poorer? poorer, MUCH poorer.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Spent time with friends, cooked dinner more.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
picking arguments, stressing about baby.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
With our families.

21. Did you fall in love in 2008?
The first time I saw that heartbeat I knew my life would never be the same, I fell harder on that day than I ever have before.

22. What was your favorite TV program?
One Tree Hill.

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
I'm moving on from things like that, I don't have the energy to hate.

24. What was the best book you read?
I re-read My Sister's Keeper...so I hope that counts. Also, I must mention Twilight.

25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Ah, I'm not really that musical. I feel in love with some new bands...Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers deserves a mention.

26. What did you want and get?
A crock-pot, a baby, a new puppy & a waffle maker. Yay for me.

27. What did you want and not get?
A new job.

28. What was your favorite film of this year?
Toss up between The Dark Knight & Twilight.

29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 24 on June 15th. Three days after recieving a positive pregnancy test...we went to an amusement park with our good friends and their son...and we told them we were KU (knocked-up). =]

30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Winning the lottery.

31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
Maternity - ugh.

32. What kept you sane?
My family & my husband...and Duke dog.

33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Britney Spears, Robert Pattinson...and Obama.

34. What political issue stirred you the most?
Anything to do with the election...

35. Who did you miss?
Jill because Japan stole her, Jess because Alask stole her...and Naomi & Jen...because life got in the way.

36. Who was the best new person you met?
The best people I've met are women I've never met before...The ones who have kept me sane and laughing during the hard times.

37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008.
That you don't need money or material things to make you happy.
